The systems are designed to be quick and easy to use, with drop-down selections, tick boxes and calendars for entering dates. Key information is highlighted in red and validated at entry time to ensure patient information is kept as accurate and complete as possible.

 

 
   Liver

PMAS Liver is for surgeons specialising in the management of liver cancer.

Typical data collected for each patient with liver cancer is:

  • Personal: name, hospital number, NHS number, demographics, date of birth, sex, GP etc
  • Admission: referral dates, originating hospital and surgeon, referral details, admitting hospital, primary tumour (colorectal, breast or other) and any previous operations. Pre-op biopsy, x-ray, MRI & CT results, pre-operative therapy, blood values and details of liver deposits
  • Surgery: hospital, surgeon, anaesthetist, procedures with dates, clampings, number of resections, Pugh Child grade, IUS results, Pringle manoeuvre etc
  • 30 day audit: all surgical complications, return to theatre, number of days in hospital, date discharged or details and date of post-operative death
  • Pathology: tumour type and grade, measurements, invasion, serosal involvement etc
  • P-Possum: pre-operative and operative values and score
  • Follow-up: for each follow-up visit: date, results of investigations, evidence of recurrence, further surgery, details of death with date

PMAS Liver includes the standard range of reports and audits as well as:

  • Primary tumour for a selected date range, find all patients with particular primary tumours or conditions
  • Liver resection for a selected date range, analyse the number of resections, re-resections and specific procedures, count the number of mortalities by cause, sum the amount of blood lost and transfused and calculate the average stay in hospital
  • Blood values for a selected date range, calculate ranges and averages of various blood proteins
  • Minimum dataset for each selected patient, display, print or export the specific information required by the AUGIS minimum dataset
